Review: Elizabeth Arden Intervene Foundation

Happy Monday ladies! After going through a lot of BB creams, foundations, powders, etc. I can definitely say that I am a true blue foundation kind of girl. Not that I don't like using BB creams but for me, I think BB creams do not do it for me in terms of coverage and getting the right skin shade. Of course, the Fairydrops BB Cream is the "only exception". Not to mention the hideous white cast that I get whenever I photograph myself (yeah, I'm such a cam addict).

Would like to share my most recent find. I had my good friend accompany me to Rustan's to find the "perfect" foundation as I am running low on my Shu Uemura Nobara Cream Stick (almost hitting the bottom now). At that time, I was looking for a full coverage, matte finish foundie. I was raving about the Stila Stay All Day baby but to my disappointment, they dont have the available shade that matches my skintone. So, I went to other counters like NARS and tried their sheer matte line, tested it on my left cheek but wasnt satisfied. I did also try the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation - this one I almost bought because the shade was perfect for me. Also tried T.LeClerc's but this baby has won me over ---> Elizabeth Arden's Intervene Makeup.

This baby costs around 2,100Php but I got it on sale (1600), not bad huh? It says on their website:

Liquid makeup with Biodormin skin care benefits helps put a pause on the main signs of aging. Micro-mineral pigment technology smoothes away imperfections for brighter, even-toned skin as it delivers all-day coverage.
  • Color-true shades.
  • A soft, natural finish.
  • Visibly delays the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as it gives skin a firmer look.
  • Oil-free.
  • Medium - full coverage.
  • Ideal for normal skin.
  • Vitamins C and E provide anti-oxidant protection, shielding the skin from environmental aggressors.
  • Offers a wearable, skin-enhancing shade range created with Elizabeth Arden's exclusive custom color system.
  • Provides SPF 15 sun protection.
  • Non-acnegenic and non-comedogenic.

With Intervene Makeup Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15, every woman can hit the pause button so skin stays younger-looking longer.
I am in my 30's so I really have to take care of this face since I am putting so much make-up on this one.  This baby also had good reviews on MakeupAlley (3.9).

What I love about this is it doesn't feel heavy and it really does keep those oilies at bay for a good 4-5 hours when set with powder. I only get to apply this once during the day and I don't feel the need to retouch and it does not oxidize on me. I don't mind that it only has SPF15 because I work during the night, so SPF factor doesn't really help me here. The consistency is creamy and very blendable, eventhough it's matte finish -- it doesn't make your skin look really dry, just make sure that you moisturize first before slapping this on as it will accentuate your dry patches :) I also like the bottle, Elizabeth Arden is one of those who has really classic, elegantly packaged items which I love, love, love.

In a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest, I give this a 4.5.

NOTDs

Hello everyone. It's Monday again! Boy oh boy :) have you had a nice weekend? (I did) I just stayed at home but I did a lot of catching up on things :) (Supernatural series marathon baby!)

One thing I have developed over the months is the fascination in nail polishes. Yep, I got addicted to them to the point that I need to have a new one every week :) I tried exploring colors, textures and brands and so far I am liking the Orly and China Glaze line.

Sharing with you some of my NOTD pics, hope you like them!

Clean Clean Clean

And I am BACK! I got so busy with work and hardly find time to post. For my comeback post, I would like to share with you my daily skin care routine. This is very simple and only takes 10-15 minutes!

Before I run through the easy steps, lemme share my "ammos" in keeping those pesky acnes at bay:
1. Etude House Happy Teatime Lemon Tea Cleansing Cream
2. Nature Republic Deep Sea Cleansing Water
3. Yves Rocher Active Sensitive Derma-Soothing Toner
4. Yves Rocher Active Sensitive Anti-Redness Cream

Woohooo! I know these four are a mouthful but let me tell you, they're doing a fine job in keeping my face clean and moisturized after a long day of work. Best part is all of them are within 300peso price!!!

And now for the steps:
1. Apply a generous amount of Etude House Happy Teatime Lemon Tea Cleansing Cream all over your face and massage for 3-5 minutes. This cream will melt away all the makeup products that you have on your face.
2. Wipe the cream with cotton pads and see magic..all the make up, dirt and grime for the day are taken off!
3. If you dont like the feeling of heavy cream on your face, you may follow up with wiping with Nature Republic Deep Sea Cleansing Water. You can feel your face squeeky clean after this :)
4. You may now follow up with toner. I use the Yves Rocher Active Sensitive Derma-Soothing Toner as this is soooo gentle on my skin, no stinging feeling. After toner, wait for about 3 minutes to let it sink onto your skin.
5. Last step is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize baby! I use the Yves Rocher Active Sensitive Anti-Redness Cream. Though this is intended for daywear, I prefer using it during my sleep as the consistency is a little thick.

And there you have it! Hope you enjoy my comeback post!
